Jim's Free Fajita Recipe
You don’t need a border crossing to start a fiesta! Fire up the grill, shake Terlingua Jim’s Texas Heat Rub™ over a fine piece of flank steak, and get ready for fajitas packed with smoky flavor and just enough kick. Pile ’em high, pass the fixin’s, and let the good times roll!
Texas Heat Beef Fajitas
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds flank or skirt steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1½ tablespoons Terlingua Jim’s Texas Heat Rub™
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- Juice of 1 lime
- Warm flour or corn tortillas
- Optional toppings: cilantro, avocado, salsa and sour cream
Directions
- Rub the steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season generously with Terlingua Jim’s Texas Heat Rub™. Let it rest for 20–30 minutes.
- Heat the grill to high. Grill the steak for 4–6 minutes per side, or until it reaches your preferred doneness.
- Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Toss the sliced peppers and onion with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Grill until lightly charred and tender.
- Slice the steak thinly across the grain and finish with fresh lime juice.
- Serve in warm tortillas with the grilled vegetables and your favorite toppings.
